THE BAND'S SOUND IS TRULY UNIQUE and above all else fun. Dancing is a very common response to the Incident. The individual players strive for a new sound in their personal playing and for the ensemble

Mike Kang - uses violin, mandolin and electric mandolin, to create a rich tapestry of sound. A pioneer on the electric mandolin, he produces huge electric guitar tones that can truly move a room. He started playing at age 7 and has played in various settings all his life, including first violin in the Marin Symphony Orchestra. His attention has now shifted to funk and jazz, making him one of the fruitiest little fellows roaming the planet. Prior to becoming an incident creator, Michael was honing his skills as an expert telemark skier in the mecca of Crested Butte.

Bill Nershi - has been playing acoustic guitar ever since he could. He's opened for such renowned artists as Taj Mahal, Arlo Guthrie, The Subdudes and Leon Russell. Bill has played Telluride Bluegrass Festival on three separate occasions and has won or placed highly in various national flatpicking contests. Billy provides much of the lyrical inspiration for the Cheese, and it is Bill who occasionally feels that he was "Born on the Wrong Planet!"

Keith Moseley - the electric bass player has been playing music for 17 years. His rock solid timing and stylistic diversity are drawing him much attention in his home of Boulder. Keith was a founding member of the national bluegrass touring band Ryestraw, and had been moonlighting with Rounder recording artist Tony Furtado, that is, before SCI started touring all of the time.......

Kyle Hollingsworth - is the newest member of the Incident. As a trained jazz pianist, he has recorded several interesting projects, including a disc with Gary Grainger of the John Scofield Band. His sensibilities and style have added a jazzy texture to the mix.

Michael Travis - has been playing congas and percussion for 11 years. He recently added a standard drum kit to create a conglomerate percussion set up, which includes congas, bongos, timbale and numerous toys. Travis has played with Merl Saunders, Leftover Salmon, and flamenco master Renee Heredia, and has opened for Bela Fleck. His extensive training in Cuban and African rhythms gives the band that global kick in the pants. Travis, recently named "Wave" (pronounced Wavae) to provide a sense of higher artistry, is perhaps the strangest member of the ensemble. Being born on 4/20 has destined Travis to lead a life of perpetual Spring Fever, whereby he is much more comfortable if his feet are covered with mud.
